ENERCONSULT S.A. was founded in 1967 as Electroconsult do Brasil, having as shareholder the internationally known ELC Electroconsult S.p.A from Milan. In 1980 the company has been nationalized and Enerconsult Engenharia was created.

Since 2001, Enerconsult is part of ARCADIS, a leading, global, knowledge-driven consulting and engineering company, with headquarters in The Netherlands, consolidating a forefront organization, totally focused on the technical and economical rationality of the major engineering jobs.
